The successful candidates will be expected to ensure the safe, continuous, effective and efficient operation of building utility systems for key manufacturing and support facilities.
Your job duties/responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
- Monitor and maintain manufacturing center building conditions and other processes via control room environment including but not limited to:

- HVAC systems: Air-washers and air-handlers with special attention to unique relative humidity and temperature parameters across the manufacturing environments.
- Process vacuum: Monitor for production required vacuum needs across multiple manufacturing environments
- Utilities systems: Steam, compressed-air, chilled water, medium-temperature hot water, and city water. Monitoring of critical setpoints of each system (temperature, pressure, etc.)
- Critical sumps: Monitoring critical levels in storm, chilled water, and sanitary sumps across the facility.
- Exhaust fans: Monitor various process general, and kitchen exhaust fans.
- Critical areas: Monitor status and alarms for several critical areas including UPS systems, data closets, computer rooms, etc.
- Leak detection: Monitor for leaks via leak detection tools in critical spaces
- Rotation of redundant equipment: Exercise equipment by equally distributing run hours across equipment when redundant units are available.
- Follow a process control plan and maintain equipment operating logs and records
- Use a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) to enter work order and preventive maintenance data to and generate notification for repairs.
- Respond appropriately to abnormal and emergency conditions and outages
- Work with maintenance teams and vendors to isolate systems for installations, inspections and repairs
- AC utility operators will work in conjunction with Senior AC utility operators and will serve as a backup resource for operating/monitoring the following equipment as needed:
- Chillers, air compressors, air dryers, cooling towers, chilled water/ cooling tower water chemistry, oil management and inventory, refrigerant management and transfer, chemical staging and inventory.
- AC utility operators schedule will be Monday-Friday across the following shifts: A-shift 7:00AM-3:00PM, B-shift 3:00PM-11:00PM, and C-shift 11:00PM-7:00AM
- Overtime on weekdays and weekends will be required as needed to cover production needs, equipment maintenance, peer coverage, and HVAC filter changes across the facility.
Qualified applicants will:
- Be at least 18 years of age, legally eligible to work in the U.S. and for Philip Morris USA
- Must be willing to work any shift and to work overtime, weekends and holidays
- Strong safety orientation
- Possess current Universal CFC Certification (EPA Section 608)
- Excellent problem-solving abilities
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- High degree of initiative and conscientiousness
- 2+ years of experience in relative HVAC, utility systems, building management, or other relevant experience
Compensation and Benefits
The starting wage for this position is $40.49 per hour. Wages progresses over 24 months to a final wage of $44.99. You will be eligible for a shift differential payment of $0.80 per hour for working B-shift (3:00PM-11:00PM) and $1.00 per hour working C-shift (11:00PM-7:00AM).
