Philip Morris USA is seeking a Training Coordinator – Manufacturing  Training to support the planning, coordination, and execution of technical training activities at the Richmond Manufacturing Center. This role is responsible for managing training logistics, schedules, and resources while maintaining training records and reporting to support training effectiveness and continuous improvement.

 

The Training Coordinator works closely with instructors, supervisors, subject‑matter experts, and external training providers to ensure training is delivered efficiently, documented accurately, and aligned with operational and compliance needs.

What you will be doing:

Training Scheduling & Logistics

  • Maintain the master technical training schedule, coordinating instructors (full‑time, part‑time, OEM, and third‑party), classrooms, and training equipment.
  • Receive, review, and route training requests across operational and maintenance disciplines.
  • Identify and resolve scheduling conflicts, instructor availability issues, and resource constraints.
  • Communicate schedules, changes, and requirements with instructors, supervisors, and stakeholders.
  • Coordinate with OEMs and third‑party providers to support training delivery, scheduling, and on‑site logistics.
  • Collect training quotes and support purchase order preparation.
  • Serve as a point of contact for external instructors during on‑site training events.

LMS Administration & Training Records

  • Maintain technical training classes and sessions in the Learning Management System, including course setup, rosters, hours entry, and reporting.
  • Validate training records to ensure accuracy and alignment with qualification and certification requirements.

Training Effectiveness & Reporting

  • Maintain training trackers, reports, and dashboards used to monitor completion, utilization, and coverage.
  • Compile and integrate training data from LMS, scheduling systems, and operational sources to support analytical modeling and leadership decision-making.
  •  Develop and apply analytical models to evaluate training effectiveness, identify trends, and quantify the impact of training programs on performance outcomes (e.g., safety, reliability, productivity).
  • Support continuous improvement efforts by leveraging data-driven insights to refine training strategies and measure ongoing program effectiveness.

What we want you to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred in Engineering, Business, or related field. Preferred 3-5 years related experience, specifically in a manufacturing environment
  • Experience coordinating schedules and logistics across multiple resources, including instructors, rooms, equipment, and external vendors.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills in a schedule-driven environment with competing priorities.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including PivotTables, PivotCharts, conditional formatting, data validation, and formulas such as XLOOKUP and SUMIFS.
  • Demonstrated experience applying data analytics techniques to interpret training or operational data, identify trends, and support data-driven decision-making.
  • Experience developing and utilizing spreadsheets, dashboards, or analytical tools to track and evaluate training completion, utilization, and effectiveness.
  • Understanding of key data analysis concepts (e.g., trend analysis, correlation, KPI development) and ability to apply them in a business or training environment.
  • High attention to detail with strong discipline around data accuracy, validation, and documentation.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft 365 tools, including Excel, Outlook, Teams, and SharePoint; experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI) is a plus.

 

 

 

The starting salary is based on but not limited to experience, knowledge, and qualifications in determining compensation decisions. The Salary Range for this position is: $104,900.00 - $152,150.00.
