We are currently seeking a highly qualified Business Unit Leader (Production Supervisors) to join our team in Clarksville, TN. You will lead teams in understanding and translating functional or business strategies into tactical implementation plans within the business unit.
What you will be doing?
- Managing resources and staffing levels within the unit to meet production, compliance, team and project objectives or goals.
- Determine and provide for team and individual development based on the needs of the business. You will develop and sustain problem solving, continuous improvement and decision-making skills.
- Seek mentoring opportunities with teams and individuals for performance improvement, administering rewards, recognition, and consequences when appropriate.
- Develop and monitor key, actionable measures with your team to link business unit performance to factory and manufacturing-wide objectives or strategy.
- Coordinate production and planned activities of business unit with team members and support resources to meet established schedules and assure effective execution of work processes.
- Develop and share meaningful information to support and focus problem solving and process improvement efforts of Work Teams in line with key measures, business goals, and strategic initiatives.
- Oversight of facilities day-to-day operations, including documentation of workforce (i.e., attendance records, employee training, timecards, performance appraisals, etc.), quality, productivity, safety, environmental, housekeeping and compliance.
- Interaction with support organizations including: Quality Assurance, Safety, Leaf Procurement, Finance Decision Support, Human Resources, Information Services, etc.
- Responsible for quality requirements relating to FDA regulations, deviation investigations, QMS documents (work instructions, forms, etc.), corrective and preventive actions, and batch acceptance.
What we want you to have:
- Bachelors’ degree, or relevant military experience, or 5+ years of manufacturing leadership experience/equivalent in an FDA regulated facility.
- Supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment preferred; familiarity with principles / concepts of Quality Systems / Lean Principles within manufacturing.
- You have the ability to draw on knowledge and experience to resolve problems, identify needs, and apply logic / deductive reasoning to develop and implement lasting solutions.
- Possess a demonstrated ability to balance multiple priorities in a changing environment.
- You have confirmed ability to optimally mentor and lead employees in a team-based environment.
- Make decisions using independent judgment under time constraints with minimal direction when required.
- You can negotiate and build consensus for resource needs, problem solving and solutions with peers, subordinates, and management through networks within and beyond the business unit or department.
- General computer skills with a solid understanding of Microsoft Office programs.
- General budgeting/accounting principles.
- Excellent written & verbal communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work in a collaborative environment with multiple customers and varied needs.
- Regular and Reliable on-site attendance is required for this position.
- Candidate must be willing to work any shift. This includes evening and night shifts, overtime, weekends, and holidays.
