We are currently seeking a highly qualified Line Support Specialist (LSS) Maintenance to join us at our U.S. Smokeless Tobacco Processing Facility in Clarksville, TN. You will supervise systems, resources, and staffing levels within the unit to meet safety, production, compliance, team and project objectives or goals.
What you will be doing:
- Providing direction, allocating resources, personnel coverage, and work assignments.
- Communicating and coordinating with production for planned activities of the business unit with team members and support resources to meet established schedules and assure effective execution of work processes.
- Communicating status of key measures to assure your employees know where they are in meeting goals.
- Building individual and organizational capability within your shift as you address the needs of the business and your people.
- Initiating as well as participating in trouble shooting, problem solving and continuous improvement efforts.
- Converting data into meaningful information to support and bring focus to problem solving and process improvement efforts.
- Participating and/or leading Corrective & Preventive Action (CAPA) and Change Control initiatives as needed.
- Operate forklift, electric lift equipment, walkie, etc.
- Assure necessary records are completed accurately, including Quality Management System (QMS), Safety, Compliance, etc.
- Working LSS to assist as needed in the diagnosis of malfunctioning systems, apparatus, and components (mechanical and electrical), using test equipment and hand tools to determine root cause of a breakdown and to correct the problem.
- Read and interpret electrical schematics and mechanical drawings. You can follow diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer’s instructions, and engineering specifications.
Compensation
The starting salary is based on but not limited to experience, knowledge, and qualifications in determining compensation decisions. The Salary Range for this position is: $78,600.00 - $115,200.00.
What we want you to have:
- Associates degree OR four (4) year state approved apprenticeship and at least one (1) year relevant leadership experience is required.
- In lieu of the education requirement, a candidate can qualify with five (5) years’ experience in a manufacturing or relevant leadership role.
- Experience with electrical controls and PLC systems preferred
- Familiarity with Maintenance work system (I-Maint), Manufacturing Systems requirements, Quality Management Systems, and Lean Manufacturing Practices.
- You have confirmed ability to effectively mentor and lead employees in a team-based environment.
- You possess a proven ability to balance multiple priorities in a changing environment.
- You can make decisions using independent judgment under time constraints with minimal direction when required.
- You can build consensus for resource needs, problem solving and solutions with peers, subordinates, and management through networks within and beyond the business unit or department.
- Have good communication skills, both oral and written.
- Good computer skills (i.e. Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.).
- Physical requirements include: the ability to easily move about an industrial facility, including, but not limited to, working in tight or confined spaces, working at higher elevations, climbing multiple stairs, working in dusty environments, working at temperature extremes (hot and cold) and humid conditions, and the ability to perform lifting, carrying, pushing, shoveling, and general housekeeping activities
- Work schedule is flexible, overtime as needed. Will be responsible for crew members on 1st and 3rd shift who work Monday through Wednesday, 12 hour shifts and Thursday, 4-hour shift.
