We are seeking a Manager, Emerging Technology Scouting to identify, evaluate, and de-risk external technologies that accelerate enterprise initiatives. In this role, you’ll source and assess partners, design measurable pilots, and transition validated solutions for scale in collaboration with Enterprise Architecture and delivery teams, ensuring alignment to strategy, governance, and value realization.

 

We are open to a remote work arrangement, but travel could be up to 50%.

What you will be doing:

External Scouting & Ecosystem Development

  • Maintaining a detailed view of startups, vendors, academia, and venture networks; building relationships to compose a high‑quality pipeline of opportunities aligned to enterprise priorities.
  • Representing the company at relevant forums and bringing back synthesized insights and recommendations.

Opportunity Shaping & Business Case Development

  • Partnering with business leaders, governance, Legal, Procurement, and Enterprise Architecture to frame problems, assess fit, and build cases with clear hypotheses, benefits, risks, and success metrics.
  • Prioritizing the opportunity backlog against strategic goals and capacity.

Pilot Design & Execution

  • Leading structured pilots: define scope, evaluation criteria, data needs, compliance requirements, and a clear decision framework for continue/pivot/stop.
  • Coordinating cross‑functional teams to deliver pilot outcomes on time and within guardrails (data privacy, ethical AI, and security).

Transition to Scale

  • On successful pilot, orchestrating transition to enterprise delivery and architecture standards, including ALM, support models, and change management for adoption.

Portfolio Management & Value Reporting

  • Maintaining transparent intake, portfolio, and value realization views; provide concise updates and recommendations to leadership.

Ways of Working

  • Operating effectively in a matrixed environment; fostering collaboration across business functions and COE pillars.

We want you to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred.
  • 8+ years in technology innovation, product management, corporate venture/scouting, or tech consulting with a record of translating emerging tech into business outcomes.
  • Hands‑on experience planning and running vendor pilots/POCs with measurable outcomes.
  • Working knowledge of AI/ML and analytics patterns, data governance, and risk considerations in regulated environments.
  • Strong business partner management, executive communication, and ability to influence without direct authority.
  • Experience with Microsoft ecosystem (M365, Power Platform, Fabric, Purview, Copilot) and associated governance/operating models preferred
  • Familiarity with enterprise architecture practices and transitioning pilots to production at scale preferred
