Want to support Manufacturing, Logistics, and Facilities in category strategies and running the day-to-day operations on the category at a Fortune 500 Company? If you have seven plus years of indirect and direct materials procurement experience, we want to speak with you! We are currently looking for a Category Manager to join our Source to Pay Category Management team in Richmond, VA. The role involves conducting market research, analyzing data, supporting the contracting process, managing supplier relationships, supporting the Managed Service Provider (MSP) category teams, and assisting with the development and implementation of category plans.

What you will be doing:

  • Analyzing demand, forecasts, budgets, and spend to support category planning, cost savings, efficiency, and value delivery.
  • Conducting market intelligence and risk analysis to assess and understand dynamic industry trends, supplier capabilities, and category risks.
  • Supporting development and execution of category strategies, buy-channel coordination, and category playbooks.
  • Supporting strategic sourcing activities, including RFPs, RFx and auctions, spot buying, and price quote management.
  • Supporting endtoend contract management, including drafting, negotiation, execution, renewals, compliance, and business partner coordination.
  • Handling preferred supplier lists and support supplier segmentation, qualification, onboarding, performance evaluation, and issue resolution.
  • Ensuring compliance with category policies, procedures, and contracts, and supporting operational, performance, and compliance reporting.
  • Partnering with the Managed Service Provider (MSP) teams to support category operations, outsourcing enablement, catalog management, and value creation.

We want you to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 7+ years of experience in direct and indirect materials procurement, with relevant exposure to Manufacturing, Logistics, and/or Facilities environments.
  • Knowledge of sourcing, category management, and procurement planning principles, including support of longterm category strategies.
  • Demonstrated negotiation skills supporting strategic procurement activities and business value delivery.
  • Experience working in complex procurement environments and supporting enterpriselevel category management initiatives.
  • Ability to support dynamic portfolio management and help assess the impact of category management on overall business outcomes.
  •  Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, adaptability, and proficiency with procurement systems and tools.
  • Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with business stakeholders, suppliers and category leadership.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in the required language; experience with Ariba, SAP, and/or ServiceNow preferred.

 

 

 

 

The starting salary is based on but not limited to experience, knowledge, and qualifications in determining compensation decisions. The Salary Range for this position is: $119,600.00 - $173,450.00.
