Overview: This internship program is designed for participants from The VCU Rehabilitation Research and Training Center. Altria is currently seeking an intern to join our Company in a 15-week Program, from April 14th, 2025, to August 13th, 2025. Upon successful completion of the internship, there may be an opportunity for part-time conversion.

 

Job Description: Altria is currently seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Quality Inspector Intern to join our team at the Center for Research and Technology. In this role, you will have the unique opportunity to contribute to the future of our industry by enhancing our regulatory processes. Throughout the internship, you will receive on-the-job training, access to a diverse group of mentors, and professional development opportunities. The intern will be challenged and empowered to participate in the following activities:

 

  • Review data in spreadsheets
  • Maintain glassware: washing, drying, and storing lab glassware.
  • Deliver samples to the laboratory and pull and dispose of unwanted samples following procedures.
  • Maintain tracker for conditioned space contents and conditioning chamber.
  • Log and track surplus of samples in preparation.
  • Prepare samples for stability chamber placement including labeling.
  • Review logbooks for completeness and scan into Altria docs.
  • Use Rotronic software to check conditions of samples.
  • Use Excel to examine data integrity.

A Regulatory Affairs Intern will:

  • Look at the data in spreadsheets and make sure the data is correct.
  • Wash, dry, and store lab glassware.
  • Deliver samples to the lab and manage unwanted samples.
  • Keep track of the contents in conditioning chambers.
  • Keep track of extra samples and get them ready for the next steps.
  • Label and prepare samples for storage in stability chambers.
  • Check and scan logbooks into Altria's system.
  • Use Rotronic software, a tool that checks if samples are good or bad, to see the condition of samples.
  • Make sure data in Excel is correct.

Rate: $15.45 an hour, 20 hours a week

Schedule: Between 9am-4pm, Monday-Friday. The exact schedule will be confirmed during the interview and will remain consistent each week.
