We are currently seeking a highly qualified Senior Manufacturing Engineer II to join us at Philip Morris USA (PMUSA) in Richmond, VA.

 

The location will reside within the Richmond MC supporting the utilities maintenance and engineering team at the manufacturing center. This role will be expected to manage various projects across utilities including new installations, maintenance driven improvements and repairs, and troubleshooting problems with an approach to drive long-term success.

 

What you will be doing: 

  • Work collaboratively within a cross-functional team environment, while operating as a Project Engineer supporting utilities maintenance and engineering at the manufacturing center.
  • Plan and execute projects and supporting maintenance utilizing internal union labor and external resources. Understand and execute based on union notification processes. 
  • Maintain project budgets with the ability to create accurate project spend projections. Plan and formalize prioritization ratings for three-year project planning.
  • Drive reliability engineering fundamentals to ensure systems operate dependably by minimizing failures through root cause analysis, predictive maintenance, and failure prevention strategies.
  • Support utility equipment including but not limited to boilers, chillers, air-washers, air compressors, fire systems, HVAC systems, steam, compressed air, chilled water, domestic water, vacuum pumps, dust collection, process and sanitary drain systems.
  • Independently lead, and complete projects requiring the application of engineering best practices, procedures, GMP, and FDA guidelines.
  • Analyze and apply problem solving techniques to develop and implement improvements for methods, processes, products, systems, documentation, and equipment.
  • Provide presentations and recommendations to stakeholders or project leadership.

 

What we want you to have: 

  • Undergraduate degree in an engineering field, Mechanical Engineering is preferred.
  • 3-5 years of experience in manufacturing and technical services supporting a manufacturing environment.
  • Working knowledge of processing & packaging machinery, engineering project structure, with a background in mechanical and electrical systems.
  • Experience in a rapid, agile, consumer-driven manufacturing environment.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills.
  • The ability to work within a manufacturing environment.

The starting salary is based on but not limited to experience, knowledge, and qualifications in determining compensation decisions. The Salary Range for this position is: $101,800.00 - $147,700.00.
