We are actively recruiting an experienced Senior Manager, Intellectual Property, to join the Intellectual Property legal team in Richmond, VA, or we are open to remote work arrangements.

 

This position reports to the Senior Assistant General Counsel-IP and will support a variety of IP-related activities across the team. The position will work closely with internal stakeholders and outside counsel on multiple core responsibilities and ad hoc project support. This role requires organization, project planning, attention to detail, strong communication skills and a team-first mindset.

 

What you’ll be doing:

  • Review and strategize IP terms of contractual activities relating to non-disclosure agreements, supplier arrangements and R&D agreements.
  • Review proposed manuscripts for potentially patentable subject matter and other publication considerations.
  • Assist with coordinating international patent filing, opposition and abandonment strategies.
  • Support strategic IP projects, including creating and managing project trackers, coordinating deliverables, and developing and updating presentations.
  • Support the creation and management of IP-related budgets.
  • Work with internal company clients to coordinate various IP activities.
  • Work with outside counsel as necessary to coordinate select IP projects.
  • Assist in the administration relating to IP policies and procedures.

We want you to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in science, engineering or a related field.
  • 10+ years’ experience working at a law firm or in-house law department, preferably supporting an intellectual property group.
  • Strong organizational and project planning skills, meticulous attention to detail, and the ability to effectively prioritize tasks and manage multiple time-sensitive projects at once.
  • Demonstrated excellence in written and verbal communication skills.
  • Advanced computer skills, particularly with Excel and PowerPoint, and the ability to learn new systems and tools.
  • Ability to interact at all levels within and outside of the company.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality, prioritize multiple tasks, work independently, and make decisions in the absence of management.

 

 

 

The starting salary is based on but not limited to experience, knowledge, and qualifications in determining compensation decisions. The Salary Range for this position is: $132,500.00 - $202,100.00.
