We are currently seeking a highly qualified Senior Specialist Contamination Control & Sanitation to join our manufacturing facility in Richmond, Virginia. You are responsible for providing strategic and day-to-day leadership for sanitation operations across the Manufacturing Center. This role partners closely with Production, Operations, Quality, and Safety teams to ensure sanitation activities are effectively planned, executed, and continuously improved in alignment with company standards and regulatory requirements.
What you will be doing:
- Provide strategic and operational leadership for plant sanitation programs, ensuring effective planning, execution, and resource allocation to meet contamination control and sanitation requirements.
- Partner with Production and Operations to coordinate sanitation activities, optimize schedules, and minimize operational disruption.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, Quality Management System (QMS) requirements, and all applicable regulatory expectations.
- Own and maintain the Equipment and Facility Master Sanitation Schedule, including verification of cleaning frequencies and effectiveness.
- Evaluate sanitation performance using data-driven metrics; analyze trends and translate insights into continuous improvement, root cause analysis, and corrective actions.
- Lead and participate in problem-solving, continuous improvement, CAPA, and Change Control initiatives supporting Contamination Control and Sanitation (CC&S) processes.
- Execute, maintain, and ensure accuracy of all required sanitation, quality, safety, and compliance documentation and reporting.
- Oversee pest management programs to ensure ongoing compliance and risk mitigation.
- Order sanitation, safety, and related supplies and manage inventory to support uninterrupted operations.
- Communicate sanitation plans, expectations, and performance clearly to team members and cross-functional stakeholders.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Senior Manager of Contamination Control and Sanitation.
We want you to have:
- Associate’s degree or a minimum of five (5) years of manufacturing leadership experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Engineering, Entomology, Business Management, or a related applied science preferred.
- Minimum of three (3) years of experience in an industrial sanitation environment within a consumer products manufacturing facility; experience in an FDA-regulated environment preferred.
- Working knowledge of FDA cGMPs, regulatory interactions, and reporting requirements preferred.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office, Tableau, Trackwise Digital, SAP CMMS systems.
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, changing environment.
- Strong decision-making skills, including the ability to exercise independent judgment under time constraints.
- Ability to build consensus and collaborate effectively with peers and cross-functional partners.
- Demonstrated commitment to staying current with emerging manufacturing and sanitation technologies and best practices.
- Strong leadership experience.
The starting salary is based on but not limited to experience, knowledge, and qualifications in determining compensation decisions. The Salary Range for this position is: $91,500.00 - $132,750.00.
