We are currently seeking a Principal Engineer I to join our Manufacturing Processing Engineering team onsite in Richmond, VA. You will lead manufacturing capability projects in our world class manufacturing facility.

 

What you will be doing:

  • Lead cross-functional projects and strategically allocate resources to include managing capital projects with associated scope, schedule and budgets of $5-$15 million annually.
  • Lead, develop and build functional capabilities of junior engineers in support of PMUSA’s vision.
  • Develop and execute departmental/functional strategies and objectives to ensure alignment with enterprise goals. Translate enterprise strategies into departmental objectives and oversee their execution.
  • Champion regulatory, compliance policies and strategies.
  • Foster a culture of innovation, continuous improvement, and simplification.
  • Build relationships with external experts to advance business goals.
  • Present work across departments and organizations and represent PMUSA externally as needed.
  • Advocate for corrective actions or change in direction based on current situations.
  • Champion PMUSA’s vision and raise ideas to accelerate success, executing with quality and delivering on time.

 

 

What we want you to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree required in mechanical or chemical engineering. Advanced degree or professional certification preferred.
  • Minimum 8+ years proven experience in engineering, manufacturing, or related field preferably in a processing manufacturing facility.
  • Ability to apply in-depth technical knowledge to bring novel solutions to challenges across departments and organizations.
  • Experience leveraging technical expertise and business acumen to anticipate risk, identify opportunities, and formulate strategies relevant to current and future enterprise initiatives.
  • Ability to independently conceive, lead, and complete multiple projects as well as develop and lead plans requiring integration of technical solutions and resources for highly complex initiatives.
  • In-depth knowledge of project life cycle and project management best practices, tools and infrastructure.
  • Experience with Cap/Ex budget planning, forecasting and monetary appropriation processes.
  • Ability to lead a team of engineers and develop/mentor/coach junior engineers.
